I blog every wedding I photograph up to 7 days after the wedding day. My couples love this part of the package as they get an instant look into how I photographed their day and quite often get to share this with their friends and family whilst they are on honeymoon! Amy and Ross - Stubton Hall Wedding Photographer

Last Friday I drove to Newark to photograph Amy and Ross’s wedding at the amazing Stubton Hall. We were truly blessed with the weather after the forecast had predicted rain for most of the week but the sun was shining and we were surrounded by blue sky as I walked around the venue which is beautiful in every sense of the word.

I had been looking forward to this wedding ever since I met up with Amy and Ross a few months beforehand at the venue. Amy and Ross are such a cool, relaxed, fun and obviously beautiful couple I just knew we would have a great time on the day photographing them both. Add to that that Amy is a stylist and loves all things “pretty” and it was a guarantee that the details would be nothing short of perfection and they certainly were.

I met up with Amy and her 6 bridesmaids in the bridal suite as everyone was busy in the final stages of bridal prep. Amy had bought the girls beautiful Victoria Secret gifts including robes and a lovely personal poem to each of them. We had time for a few photos which you're see below before we headed down the grand staircase ready for the ceremony.

The ceremony was full of joy, laughter, a few tears and even a few cheers as Amy and Ross read their vows, exchanged rings and sealed the deal with kiss to become husband and wife in front of all their closest friends and family.

With the weather being so great everyone got to enjoy the grounds whilst canapés and drinks were served. I love this time of the wedding. Theres so much going on around us and it’s the perfect time to get some natural documentary images of the couple and their guests before we do some bridal party portraits.

There were so many backgrounds inside and out of Stubton Hall that we were so spoilt for choice. I could have photographed Amy and Ross there all day and still found places we hadn’t used. Amy’s dress was to die for and photographed beautifully in any light. I think the staircase shots show it off best, truly stunning!

It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and Amy and Ross entered the room to a huge round of applause before sitting down for a lovely 3 course dinner. The speeches soon followed and were very well delivered by Peter, Ross, Simon and Tash. So much laughter which was great for us to capture some classic reactions.

With the sun starting to set everyone enjoyed a few sundowners in the gardens before heading back in for the cutting of the cake and the first dance. The backdrop to the dance floor was a huge “Love” sign which set the scene perfectly for Amy and Ross’s first dance as husband and wife.

I kept a close eye on the sunset as I had a feeling it was going to be a great one. I think we all got a bit exited as the sky turned orange and we headed out for some final portraits with beautiful soft golden sunshine to light the way. A perfect ending to what can only be described as a truly Epic wedding day. One I will never forget.

Amy and Ross, thank you so much for asking me to photograph your big day, your both legends as Ross would say 🙂 It was so hard picking the images for the sneak peek as there are so many. Your probably reading this whilst on your honeymoon in Bali, have a great time and I hope you enjoy looking through your sneak peek storyboard!

Huge thanks also to Leela Wanless for assisting and second shooting, great job as always!
