I blog every wedding I photograph up to 7 days after the wedding day. My couples love this part of the package as they get an instant look into how I photographed their day and quite often get to share this with their friends and family whilst they are on honeymoon! You can view my most recent posts below.
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Janine and Matt’s wedding at the beautiful Eynsham Hall. I had been looking forward to this one ever since I first met Janine and Matt. Their enthusiasm for photography, their trust in me to create and their general excitement for everything to do with their wedding was infectious and I just couldn’t wait to see everything come together for them and to capture the marriage of two wonderful people.
I was also pretty excited to shoot a wedding for the first time at Eynsham Hall. It’s such an exquisite venue with lovely grounds and when that building lights up at night…wow!!
The wedding was truly an international affair with guests traveling from all over the UK and abroad. Janine’s Portuguese and many of her family made the trip over in the week leading up to the wedding day. There were little touches like the Portuguese liquor as the wedding favours and the table names were named after safari animals from Janine’s time spent in South Africa as a child.
Everything was personalised, even Matt’s gifts to Janine had personalised wrapping paper. Every little detail had been thought of.
I arrived early and it was great to spend time with both Janine and Matt as they made their final preparations in opposite ends of the hotel. The boys cracking open the Brandy and the girls enjoying a few glasses of champagne whilst they were pampered with hair and make up.
I always love capturing the relationship between father and daughter and one of my favourite sequences of shots are as Janine and her Dad made their way to the ceremony down the grand staircase. Look out for those below. Special moments!
The ceremony was beautiful, full of laughter and lovely readings from friends and family. The Spring afternoon light was shining through the large windows at the front of the room as Janine and Matt read their vows and exchanged rings to become husband and wife!
There were many congratulations whilst the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the bar. We even managed to nip out and use the grounds for some group shots. Janine did a fab job of braving the cold whilst we did some beautiful couple shots. We just had to show off that amazing fishtail train!
Soon it was time for the meal and then the speeches which were excellently delivered by Matt, Chris and later in the evening Ikechi. They made for some great reaction photos.
There was some chill time after the speeches so we made the most of the night lights and did a few dramatic shots outside before heading back in for the cutting of the cake and first dance.
The first dance was another surprise as Janine and Matt had been practicing Samba and did a lovely routine in front of all their friends and family. Then the party really got started as their guests joined them on the dance floor to party the night away.
